Core Values

Research

At TRRI, we believe that research is foundational to our impact initiatives. We plan to conduct cutting-edge scientific research to better understand raptor behavior, biology and physiology, and their ecological and socio-environmental impacts. TRRI’s research and conservation biology laboratory will stand at the forefront of innovation and will work collaboratively with peers across the globe to implement solutions to successfully achieve our mission. Our hope is that by developing an industry leading research sector, our findings will not only contribute to the global body of knowledge but will also inform our educational programs, conservation strategies, and community aid initiatives.

Education

Our educational initiatives are designed to cultivate an appreciation for raptors and their habitats. Through training demonstrations, interactive exhibits, and community outreach programs, we will work to empower individuals of all ages to become advocates for raptor conservation. We believe that an informed and engaged public is essential for driving the cultural shift needed to protect our natural world. Through these efforts, we seek to inspire people across generations, and the globe, to care for raptors and the habitat they call home.

Conservation

At TRRI, we envision a world where raptors soar amongst thriving ecosystems, and we are committed to advancing both in situ and ex situ conservation initiatives to protect raptors across the globe. By safeguarding critical habitat needed for their survival, we can ensure that these birds will continue to soar for generations to come. However, our approach to conservation goes beyond the preservation of ecosystems and biodiversity. We believe that cultural practices, stories, and traditions hold the key to sustainable environmental stewardship. By fostering a deep connection between people and the natural world, we aim to inspire a sense of responsibility and care for our planet. Our projects are designed to empower communities to take an active role in conservation, promoting practices that are both ecologically sound and culturally significant.

Mutual Aid

Advocacy is a cornerstone of our work. By engaging with local communities and global networks to promote best practices in conservation action, we can foster a deep connection between people and raptors and inspire a collective sense of responsibility and stewardship. Through our community aid initiatives, we seek to solve problems that have historically been limiting factors for people in at-risk communities or demographics. By increasing access to critical resources such as food, education, and career development, we can provide pathways to lives that are mutually beneficial for humans and raptors alike.
